FRANZ KAFKA – 100 years anniversary
exhibition
The life and work of Franz Kafka inspired students from art schools in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary to create original posters, which can be seen at the Mánes Exhibition Hall in Prague until 19 July. The exhibition is one of the major events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of Franz Kafka – a key figure in Czech-German-Jewish literature and an integral part of Prague's cultural code. Kafka's work is still relevant and continues to attract readers and inspire artists around the world, as the exhibition at Prague's Mánes proves. Students from Pilsen, Košice, Zlín, Warsaw and Budapest have shown that the horrors, bizarreness and fears Kafka describes in his work are still relevant today, and half a hundred posters show how Kafka can be interpreted in different ways.
